We’re so excited to be returning to the magnificent Metropolitan WaterWorks Museum in Chestnut Hill for a program we're keeping a little secret until you come to the show. Phoenix Prime - Heavenly Life

Joshua Weilerstein, Conductor
Helen Zhibing Huang, Soprano

Join us as Phoenix PRIME returns for drinks, music, and a big Phoenix first as we tackle the music of Gustav Mahler, who is known for his epic symphonic journeys.

This program marks a Phoenix first as we tackle the music of Gustav Mahler, who is known for his epic symphonic journeys. We pair Mahler’s most gentle work, his Fourth Symphony (arranged for chamber orchestra by Iain Farrington), with a short work by Franz Schreker, a highly underrated contemporary of Mahler whose career was cut short by the rise of the Nazi power.

Phoenix Prime - A Night at the Theater

Matthew Szymanski, Conductor
Christopher Voss, Narrator

Join us for a literal night at the theater as Phoenix Prime returns in person for the first time in over 18 months. We’re excited to be one of the very first groups to play in the fantastically renovated Crystal Ballroom at Davis Square’s iconic Somerville Theater. The night’s program is (you guessed it) all about the theater! We open our season with a premiere of an arrangement of Tom Wiggins’s theatrical Battle of Manassas by Boston’s own Jonathan Bailey Holland, then we’re joined by 99.5 CRB’s Christopher Voss for Igor Stravinsky’s two-act parable: L’Histoire du Soldat.
