Phoenix Prime - Heavenly Life

  • Artists for Humanity EpiCenter 100 West 2nd Street Boston, MA, 02127 United States (map)

Joshua Weilerstein, Conductor
Helen Zhibing Huang, Soprano

Join us as Phoenix PRIME returns for drinks, music, and a big Phoenix first as we tackle the music of Gustav Mahler, who is known for his epic symphonic journeys.

This program marks a Phoenix first as we tackle the music of Gustav Mahler, who is known for his epic symphonic journeys. We pair Mahler’s most gentle work, his Fourth Symphony (arranged for chamber orchestra by Iain Farrington), with a short work by Franz Schreker, a highly underrated contemporary of Mahler whose career was cut short by the rise of the Nazi power.

Transport yourself back to the height of German romanticism, with an evening of lush, inspiring, and transcendent music.
